How More Life works

Gather their stories from everyone who loved them

More Life is a memorial built from stories, not just photos. You start a private memorial for free and invite the people who knew them. Nate or Rachelle, our AI interviewers, help each person remember one question at a time. Contributors don't need an account. Nothing appears on the memorial until you approve it.

The short version

  • Private by default. Creating a memorial never makes it public.
  • No account for contributors. The people you invite need only a private link and a memory to tell.
  • Guided, not blank. Nate or Rachelle asks one question at a time, so people remember specific moments instead of writing a summary.
  • In their own voices. People can type a memory or record it in their own voice.
  • You approve what's shared. By default, every submission waits for your review.
  • Pay once, or not at all. Free to start, with one-time upgrades and no subscriptions.
i.

Begin a memorial

Tell us who it's for: their name, a photo if you have one, and whether they've passed or are still living. There's no rush to get every detail right, so begin with what you know. You'll create a free account to begin, so your memorial stays with you. It starts privately, and only you can see it until you decide otherwise.

The free memorial includes unlimited photos and contributors, one guided interview, every customization feature including albums, and 5 GB of storage. No credit card is required.

ii.

Invite everyone who loved them

A sibling, an old teammate, a neighbor, the friend from the night shift. Each of them remembers someone slightly different. Each person gets their own private link, and you can close a link at any time.

When someone opens the link, they enter their name and how they knew the person, so whatever they share is credited to them. They don't need an app or an account. Anyone who has the link can contribute, so share it only with people you trust.

iii.

Give the memories a way back

People can share in whatever way feels natural:

  • A guided conversation with Nate or Rachelle, in their own words
  • A written memory. Small and ordinary is perfect. Tap a prompt to get started, or just write.
  • Photographs and video, with a caption and roughly when it was taken
  • Things they loved: a song, a book, a team, a saying, even a recipe with ingredients and steps
  • A note for the guestbook, a short tribute visitors may read
  • Events for the life timeline, if you've given that person timeline access

Every step is optional. Someone can leave one line and a photo, and that's enough.

Meet Nate and Rachelle

Nate and Rachelle are AI interviewers. You choose which one guides the conversations for your memorial. They ask one question at a time and help people get to the specific, everyday moments: the crooked pancakes, the wave from the garden gate.

Sample interview

Illustrative AI-generated audio, not a real interview.

What to know, plainly:

  • They're not people. Each conversation says up front that it's AI and not a human interviewer.
  • Follow-up questions come from typed answers. The AI uses what someone types, plus the memorial's context, to ask a good next question.
  • Recordings stay as they were said. If someone records their voice, the recording is kept in their own words. It isn't rewritten, and it isn't automatically transcribed.
  • Nobody has to use AI. Anyone can simply write a memory or upload a photo instead.

How many completed guided interviews you get depends on your plan: one on the free plan, up to 25 with The Voices, and up to 50 with The Legacy.

iv.

You approve what's shared

By default, every memory, photo and interview waits in your inbox for your review. You read, listen, and decide what appears on the memorial. You can also remove something later.

There are two exceptions, and both are your choice. You can turn on automatic approval for the guestbook, and you can give a trusted person timeline access so the life events they add are published directly. Their memories and interviews still wait for you.

You can also add editors, people who help you manage stories, media, contributions, the timeline, services and design. Editors can't change privacy, billing, invitations or ownership.

v.

Decide who can see it

Every memorial has one of three settings, and you can change it at any time:

Memorial visibility settings and who can see each
SettingWho can see it
Private (default)Only you and the people you invite
UnlistedAnyone with the link. It's kept out of search and the sitemap, and you can add a password
PublicAnyone. It can appear in search results

A note we'd rather tell you now: copies someone has already downloaded, or that social services have saved, can't be recalled if you change visibility later.

vi.

Keep them close

  • Services and gatherings. Add a celebration of life, a funeral or a burial with the date, venue, dress code and notes, plus links for directions, a livestream or an RSVP form if you have them.
  • Ways to honor. Add a link for a charity donation or for sending flowers.
  • A QR code and a printed card. Once a memorial is unlisted or public, you can download its QR code (PNG or SVG) and a printed card to share at a service.
  • A QR headstone plaque. An engraved, weather-resistant plaque whose code opens the memorial. Learn about the plaque
  • Remembrance reminders. If you allow it, contributors can opt in to a yearly email on a birthday or anniversary.
  • Download everything. Get a ZIP of the story, photographs, recordings and contributions at any time.
  • Delete it if you need to. Deleting a memorial removes it from public view right away. It's kept for 30 days, and you can restore it as private during that time.

For someone who is still here: Living Legacy

Living Legacy lets the person tell their own story while they still can. They get a private, unhurried interview, one question at a time, by typing or recording. Nothing is shared until they read their chapter and approve it. Their "Share after I'm gone" section stays hidden until you confirm they have passed. It's part of The Legacy, a one-time plan ($300).

Questions about how it works

Do I need an account to begin a memorial?

Yes. You'll create a free account before beginning a memorial on any plan, including Living Legacy. The people you invite can contribute through their private links without an account.

Do the people I invite need an account?

No. They open a private contribution link, enter their name and how they knew the person, and share. There's no app and no account. Guided interviews count toward your plan's allowance.

Are Nate and Rachelle real people?

No. They're AI interviewers. Each conversation says so up front. Follow-up questions are based on typed answers. Voice recordings are kept in the person's own words and aren't automatically transcribed.

Who sees what people submit?

You do, first. By default, every submission waits for your review, and only what you approve appears on the memorial. You can choose to auto-approve guestbook notes or let a trusted person add timeline events directly.

Is the memorial public?

Not unless you make it public. Every memorial starts private. You can make it unlisted, which means anyone with the link can visit and you can add a password, or public, which means it can appear in search.

What if someone doesn't want to talk to an AI?

They don't have to. Anyone with the link can write a memory, upload photos or video, add things the person loved, or leave a guestbook note without ever opening a guided conversation.

Can I download everything or delete the memorial?

Yes. You can download a ZIP of the story, photographs, recordings and contributions at any time. Deleted memorials have a 30-day recovery window. Deleting doesn't recall copies someone has already downloaded.
