A headstone has room for a name, two dates and maybe a line. The people who stop there often want more: who they were, what they loved, what made them laugh.
The QR code opens their memorial, so everything your family has chosen to share is a scan away. That might be the stories friends told in guided interviews, voice recordings in their own words, photographs, a life timeline, the things they loved and the guestbook. Visitors see only what you've approved and published. Pending submissions never show.
Celebration, not commemoration. The stone marks where they rest. The plaque opens up the life they lived.

Private memorials and the plaque
Every More Life memorial starts private. Here's what that means for the plaque:
- Private: someone who scans the plaque can't open the memorial without an invitation. If you order one for a private memorial, we'll ask you to confirm that you understand.
- Unlisted: anyone who scans the code, or has the link, can visit, but the memorial stays out of search engines. You can also add a password so visitors have to enter it first.
- Public: anyone can visit, and the memorial can appear in search.
For a plaque, unlisted is usually the right fit. We won't change your privacy setting without your confirmation.
Where plaques are ordered
Plaques are ordered from inside a memorial, on its Share tab, by the memorial's primary owner. You give a US shipping address and an email for your confirmation. With The Legacy, one plaque is set aside for that memorial, and you pay only the $8.95 shipping.

Before you attach it
Cemeteries set their own rules about what can be added to a headstone or marker. Before you attach a plaque, ask the cemetery office, and the monument company if the stone is new. Many families also put a plaque on an urn, a memorial bench, a garden stone or a framed photo at home instead.

Every unlisted or public memorial comes with a free downloadable QR code (PNG or SVG) and a printed card. Put them in a service program, on a table at the celebration of life, or in a thank-you note. When people scan, they can read the memorial and, if you invite them, add their own memories.

Can I put a QR code on a headstone?
It depends on the cemetery. Each cemetery sets its own rules about additions to headstones and markers. Ask the cemetery office before you attach anything. A plaque can also go on an urn, a bench or a garden stone.
Do I need a paid plan to order one?
No. The plaque is priced the same for every memorial, including free ones: $50 plus $8.95 US shipping. The Legacy includes one plaque per memorial.
Can I keep the memorial private and still use a plaque?
You can, but visitors who scan it won't be able to open the memorial without an invitation. If you set it to unlisted instead, it's reachable by the code or link and kept out of search, and you can add a password.
